Le Monde De Dom offers lovely catered accommodation in Vaux en Beaujolais (inspiration for the fictional village of Clochemerle), right in the heart of the Beaujolais area. Stunning views. Heated swimming pool. Lunches and evening meals may be taken on site (book in advance, 30 euros per person, all included). Breakfast is included in the room rates. If you stay a little longer, you could sample wines from the Beaujolais region at the Château de Vaux, or treat yourself to a chauffeur-driven tour of Lyons and Pérouges.

Day 2 ♦♦ Morning: Explore the Parc de la Tête d'or gardens, zoo and leisure complex ♦ Lunch: At the Halles de Paul Bocuse covered market ♦ Afternoon: Shopping in the Presqu'île district before going back to your bedroom for a soak in the jacuzzi and a good massage ♦ Evening meal: At the Comptoir Thomas or the Auberge de l'Ile

Should you stay a little longer… the Fine Arts Museum (Musée des Beaux Arts) and the Ainay district with all its art galleries and antique dealers are also tremendously enjoyable.....
